Schuylkill man jailed on charges

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Monday, Jan. 30, following a domestic incident.

State police at Frackville said about 10:50 a.m. troopers were dispatched to 390 State Road in Ryan Township, for a reported domestic dusturbance involving a firearm.

As a result of an investigation troopers placed Joseph Edward Mayesky, 30, into custody. The victims were identified as Christine M. Banavage, 37, and Edward V. Gimeno, 84.

Mayesky was charged with two counts each of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering, and one count each of simple assault and harassment.

He was arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $35,000 straight cash bail.
