Theft at Palmerton school is probed

A theft incident at the Palmerton Area High School, located at 3525 Fireline Rd., Lower Towamensing Township, is being probed by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said Whitney Babyak, librarian at the school, reported her pocket book was taken from the library office.

It was later found in a trash can in the boys' bathroom with $15 missing from it.

The theft occurred sometime between 12:40 and 1:05 p.m. on Jan. 26, troopers said. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
