New area business, Let's Get Fit offers home based fitness plan
Tim Kocher, owner of Let's Get Fit, is a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist who will make exercise routines and nutritional plans specifically to meet your health needs.
Are you still trying to lose that Christmas weight gain?
Have the winter blues helped you eat more junk food and exercise less frequently?
Are you afraid to go to a gym because you don't know how to use the equipment properly?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then Let's Get Fit, a new area business, may be the answer.
Owned by Tim Kocher, a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist, Let's Get Fit is a home-based business in Lehighton where you do not have to leave your home to get some advice on the foods you eat or help in creating an exercise routine you can stick with. Kocher will come to you.
"We can meet in a gym, at your house or wherever you would like," he said. "Whatever is convenient for you works for me."
He explained that his program is based not solely on body mass index (BMI), but rather body composition, which factors in muscle mass and measurements, in addition to height and weight.
Kocher, who was employed as the coordinator and personal trainer at Health Works in Lehighton until its closing last December, has an extensive background in the world of fitness.
In addition to running a gym, he was a body builder and powerlifter; as well as a personal trainer.
Last year, he also took classes to become certified through the American Academy of Sports Dieticians and Nutritionists.
"I want to educate people," Kocher said, adding "that it's not about what you eat, it's about how much you're eating. It's about accountability."
He gave an example of one success story.
A woman who came to him in 2010 was over 200 pounds and eating only a few hundred calories a day.
After he worked with her to develop a better nutritional plan; as well as an exercise routine, she lost 60 pounds and 23 percent of her body fat in 15 months and has kept off the weight to date.
"I make a plan based on your goals and health," he said, noting that some goals include toning, weight loss, or just feeling good about your choices.
