Lehighton man, who faced 255 counts, jailed for sexual assaults
A Lehighton man, who had 255 charges charges filed against him related to sexual assaults of three girls over an 11 year period, was sentenced to 17 1/2 to 35 years in state prison, and 10 years of probation, by Northampton County Court.
Albert Peddigree Jr., 42, will also have a lifetime inclusion on the Megan's List register.
Peddigree escaped an even longer prison term by offering a no contest plea on Jan. 10 for two counts each of rape, indecent assault, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of a child, and one count each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and sexual assault.
By offering the no contest plea, he avoided a potential lifetime prison sentence.
Peddigree was charged with molesting and raping a Northampton girl from 1999 to 2005, starting when she was 7 years old, before he started molesting her 8 year old sister in 2008.
He was arrested in Coopersburg following a two month manhunt in December 2009. When arrested, he was at a motel with a 16-year-old Slatington girl, who was also a victim, arresting officers said.
His first victim was sexually abused in 2004, officials said.
