Courtney McCall wins OLOAA Geography Bee

Courtney McCall, an eighth grade student at Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, won the school level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Jan. 13, and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 25th annual National Geographic Bee. This year's Bee is sponsored by Google .

McCall will now take a written exam to determine if she will be one of the top 100 scorers to compete in the state Bee on March 30.
