Policeman's Ball in JT will aid Cystic Fibrosis

The Jim Thorpe Police Department is gearing up to hold its fourth annual Policeman's Ball at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Memorial Hall, 101 E. 10th St., Jim Thorpe.

The event, which will feature formal attire and a sit-down meal, will benefit Cystic Fibrosis.

Although the ball is over a month away, the department is welcoming any donations to help defray the cost of the ball. Those who wish to make a donation can contact the department at (570) 325-4995, and speak with Jamie Solomon of Chief Joseph Schatz.

Donations, specifically identified as being for the policeman's ball, can also be mailed to the Jim Thorpe Police Department, 101 E. 10th St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.

The ball will feature entertainment by Shades of Grey. Tickets are currently available, but will be limited to 300, on a first come, first served basis. Tickets include a meal and beverages.

In addition to Solomon and the chief, the planning committee includes Cindy Kmetz, Det. Lee Marzen, Louise McClafferty, Tracey Malaska and Tammy Lombardo.
