Snowy event benefits the Blue Mountain Health System
How can having snowy fun on the slopes help a hospital?
Blue Mountain Health System will hold a Slip, Slide Sold! night at Blue Mountain Ski Area, Palmerton, from 4 p.m. to midnight Jan. 28.
The 'fun"- raising event will feature a silent/paper bid auction from 4-10 p.m. Carbon County residents are invited to ski, snowboard and tube from 4 p.m. to midnight for only $20.
Blue Mountain Health System officials hope to raise $30,000 through the event.
"The proceeds will be used for ongoing room renovations at all three of our facilities (Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Palmerton Hospital and the Summit at Blue Mountain) and capital equipment purchases based on priority," said director of Fund Development Joseph Guardiani.
Blue Mountain Ski Area owner Barb Green, who is also on the BMHS board of directors, offered to host the fundraiser at the popular resort to help the hospitals, Guardiani said.
