Driver is charged after vehicle crash
Jim Thorpe police have reported the arrest of Katelyn Roth, 22, of 21 W. Third St., Jim Thorpe, on various charges, including DUI of a controlled substance, as a result of an accident at 1:40 p.m. Nov. 4 of last year on the Lentz Trail.
Police said she was driving a Dodge Caravan that rolled over and came to rest on its roof against a PPL utility pole. Police said Roth stated she tried to avoid hitting an animal that had entered the road in front of the Caravan, causing her to lose control of it.
Police said the woman admitted to taking several prescription medications before operating the vehicle. Police said she submitted to a chemical test of her blood, which revealed positive findings of a controlled substance in it.
In addition to being arrested for DUI of a controlled substance, Roth has been charged with driver required to be licensed, careless driving and driving on the right side of the roadway.
