January 5, 1940 Joe Rondosh scores a game-high 17 points and Lansford outscores Summit Hill in every quarter to cruise to a 47-27 upset win in Black Diamond League play. The Panthers, coached by Ken Millen, break away from a 9-9 tie score to take a nine-point halftime lead. Al "Rebound" Bilovsky contributes to the victory with 10 points, while Frank George adds eight. The winners also receive seven points from Bill Price. Leading the Hillers is Tom Pantoni, who nets 13 points.
