Lehighton pharmacy is robbed
LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Lehighton police are investigating a robbery at First National Pharmacy along North First Street. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. Monday when a lone male entered the business and grabbed a number of drugs before running off.
Lehighton police are investigating a robbery at First National Pharmacy, 143 N. First St., Lehighton.
Police said the incident happened at about 8:15 p.m. Monday.
According to police, a white male, about 5 foot, 10 inches and wearing dark colored clothing, gloves, and sunglasses, entered the establishment. He demanded prescription medication, police said.
The individual did not show a weapon. Police said he fled with several bottles of medication.
Lehighton police were assisted by police from Franklin and Mahoning townships. Employees of the pharmacy did not see what direction the male ran off in or if he was picked up near the scene.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
