Matthew C. Stuart, 18, of New Tripoli, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 10, on Carpet Road, Township Route 633, in Weisenberg Township, state police at the Fogelsville barracks said.

Police said he was driving a 2002 Honda Accord eastbound when it traveled onto the southern shoulder of the road and struck a utility pole. Police said the pole was sheared off at the base and the remainder was hanging by utility lines until the pole could be replaced by electric and telephone companies.

Police said the Accord continued in a southeastern direction and came to rest in the grass approximately 12 yards off the southern shoulder of the road.

Police said Stuart will be cited for causing the accident.
