State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened at 9:20 p.m., Dec. 29, along Route 895 in South Manheim Township.

Police said a vehicle traveling west went off the highway and struck a mailbox and post along the north berm, damaging it, and then traveled about 50 feet before coming to rest in a yard at 2563 Fair Road in the township.Police said the vehicle left the scene by traveling west on Rt. 895.
