Crash occurs in Mahoning Township

Mahoning Township police say a young girl is lucky to be alive after being involved in a crash Sunday morning along Ashtown Road. Police state the 16-year-old girl driving the car did not have a drivers license when she rolled her car. They are also investigating whether alcohol was a factor.Police said the girl was traveling west on Ashtown Road just before the intersection with Route 443 when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Her car swerved off the left berm, hitting and snapping off a tree. The car then rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver did not appear to have any injuries. Ashtown Road was closed for a period of time.
