Effort UMC celebrated Scout Sunday this past Sunday.

In attendance was Doug Klemm, Boy Scout District Commissioner, and many leaders and members of Cub Scout Pack 99 and Boy Scout Troop 98 as well as one Scout from Troop 102.

They served as greeters, ushers and also Scripture readers. The two Boy Scouts that did that were Chris Kaye at the 8:30 a.m. and Christian Shea at the 11 a.m. service.

The Scouts recycle soda can tabs for the church's hunger ministry program. Forty-two dollars was given to the food pantry from that project.

Klemm presented the Scout charter to the Rev. Bob Argot (ret.), filling the pulpit for the Rev. Robin Fisher who was on the return trip from a mission trip to Joplin, Mo.

The church has opened its doors to Pack 99 for over 20 years and Troop 99 for 15, explained Klemm, and Scouting leaders hope to re-establish a Venture group in the future.
