CCTI to host open house, trade and art show Thurs.

On Thursday, March 1, Carbon Career and Technical Institute will be hosting its Open house, trade show, and art show. The event will run from 5-8 p.m.

This event is open to the public.

"This event gives everyone the chance to see what CCTI has to offer and what we are all about," stated Principal, Brent Borzak.

Graphic Design students will be hosting an art show where their artwork will be on display and available for purchase.

Also, marketing students will be showcasing different non profit and community organizations.

Students in 11th and 12th grades will be able to meet with representatives about certain apprenticeship program opportunities.

In other news, at February's CCTI Joint Operating Committee meeting, Michelle Markovich, representing Panther Valley School District was appointed to the JOC.

Thomas Zimmerman IV, representing Lehighton Area School District, was appointed to the JOC as an alternate representative.

Also, all five Carbon County school districts approved CCTI's 2012-2013 Proposed Operating Budget calling for receipts and expenditures of $6,983,946.
