Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating three crashes on Schuylkill County roadways, all occurring on Sunday, Feb. 26.

A two-vehicle crash was reported about 8:39 a.m. along Manheim Road in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Jacob T. Albright, 25, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1994 Ford Escort westbound while Andrew J. Cremia, 81, of Schuylkill Haven, was eastbound in a 2010 Dodge Journey.

Troopers said Cremia attempted to turn left into the parking lot of Redner's Warehouse Market and struck the Escort in the westbound lane.

Albright was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Cremia was not injured.

Troopers cited Cremia for vehicle turning left.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 1:35 p.m. along SR183 in Cressona. Troopers said Desta A. Fryer, 41, of Kaska, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina southbound when she lost control. The car went onto the berm and struck a utility pole.

Fryer was injured and was flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Troopers cited her for careless driving.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 2:02 p.m. along SR61 at the intersection with the entrance road to the Cressona Mall in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Lawrence R. Dixon, 83, of Pottsville, was driving a 1996 Ford Escort northbound and attempted to turn left into the parking lot of the mall when he pulled into the path of a 2011 Mazda 3 driven southbound by Takisha C. Miller, 27, of Yeadon, Delaware County.

Dixon, Miller and her passengers, Kiesha S. Ravenell, 35, and Sabrina R. McDuffy, 33, both of Philadelphia, all sustained minor injuries and were taken to the SMC-S. Jackson St.

Damages were termed heavy to both vehicles. Troopers cited Dixon for vehicle turning left.
