Valuable trees damaged by vandals

State police at Frackville are investigating an incident in which trees, valued at over $43,000, and with a value at harvest of over $107,000, were damaged by vandals in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the incident occurred at 513 West Pheasant Run Road, in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said unknown criminals damaged 639 trees in a field at that location. An unknown type vehicle was used to run over the trees.

The trees had a total value of $43,592 at the present time and a value of $107,544 at the time of harvest. The trees are owned by DPS Trees of New Ringgold.

The incident occurred sometime between Feb. 1 and Wednesday, Feb. 22.
