A vehicle stop in Monroe County has led to the arrest of two men on drug charges.

State police at Fern Ridge said a vehicle was stopped about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, along SR715 in Pocono Township, for a motor vehicle code violation. Troopers said there were indications of criminal activity observed. A request for a consent search of the vehicle was denied.

Troopers said a K9 unit was called to the scene and a search warrant was obtained. Found in the car was a large amount of high grade marijuana and over $5,000 in cash.

Placed under arrest were Michael Macaluso, 24, of Henryville, and Martin Merchelski, no fixed address. The two were transported to the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment, troopers said.
