PV's Moyer, Goida earn medals at Jr. High tourney

Two Panther Valley wrestlers earned medals at the District 11 Junior High Tournament held at Parkland High School the weekend of Feb. 17-18.

Dylan Moyer earned a third place finish and Darren Goida had a seventh place finish.

Moyer opened the tournament by pinning Easton's Adrian Lopez in 2:25. He followed with a 10-1 decision over John Soimes of Liberty and then pinned Daniel Pasch of Easton Red. In the semifinals, he suffered a 1-0 loss first loss of his season to Adam Soldridge of Bethlehem Catholic. Moyer rebounded with 1-0 decision of Ian Cagle of Blue Mountain and a 2-0 win over Nick Price of Pocono Mountain East for the third place finish.

Goida earned a fall in 1:16 against Carter Rodriguez of Jim Thorpe in his first bout and followed that up with a 4-1 decision of Pius X's Robbie Shoemaker. Goida then dropped a 6-5 decision to Jacob Geist of Parkland in the quarterfinals. He then posted a 1-0 decision over Cade Wilson of Nazareth, lost a 2-1 decision vs Zachary Kemmerer of Lehighton, and closed the tournament with a 3-2 decision over Tristan Leichliter for his seventh place finish.
