Carbon County Democrats for Change to meet

Published February 23. 2012 05:01PM

The upcoming meeting of the Carbon County Democrats for Change will be devoted to Pennsylvania legislative issues including: the newly passed gas-drilling law; the proposed mandatory sonogram law; and planned "voter suppression" legislation.

Club President Linda Christman urges local Democrats to "come out and hear what our State Legislature has done to our environment and to women's rights while our attention has been focused on Rick Santorum's sweater vest."

Also on the program will be a presentation by high school students, Amresse Farrow and Bronson Ford, covering the highlights of the Progressive Summit recently held in Philadelphia.

The Democrats for Change will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at The Inn at Jim Thorpe in the basement conference room.

Democrats for Change is an action-oriented Democratic Club that supports progressive legislation, ideas and leaders. For more information call Linda Christman, 610-3777-0235.
