Reward offered for missing sculpture

The Jim Thorpe Chamber of Commerce is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for stealing a sculpture.

According to borough police on Tuesday, Feb. 21, about 10:50 a.m. they received a report of a theft that occurred during the Presidents' Weekend festivities at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, at 14 W. Broadway.

Police said a lighthouse wood sculpture was taken. It was last seen on Sunday, Feb. 19, at about 1 a.m. and discovered missing later that day at 8:30 a.m. The sculpture is valued at $300.
