A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, along SR125 in the area of Molleystown Road, in Tremont Township.

Troopers said Gurminder Singh, 24, of Sugarloaf, was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound and negotiating a right-hand curve when he lost control. The car went onto the berm and struck an embankment and cement drainage ditch.

After impact the car continued north on the embankment and struck a PennDOT road sign. It then rolled over onto its roof and slid back into the northbound lane where it came to rest.

Singh, who suffered a minor injury, was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment. Troopers said Singh showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for DUI. The DUI charge is pending blood test results, troopers added.
