Ashley Yurick, daughter of Theresa Yurick of Summit Hill and the late Paul Yurick Jr. was united in marriage to Shane Schirer, son of Richard and Donna Schirer of Lehighton, on Oct. 8, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Summit Hill.

The Rev. James Burdess officiated the double ring ceremony. Kathy Crampsie was singer and guitarist. Robert Ames was the organist.Given in marriage by her mother and grandfather, Paul Yurick Sr., the bride chose her sisters, Jennifer Yurick of North Carolina, and Lauren Yurick of Summit Hill, to be her maids of honor.Bridesmaids included Chrissy Schirer, Lehighton; Megan Skripko, Tuscarora; Tara Schreppel, Middletown; Shawna Kennedy, Summit Hill; Kayla Everett, Lehighton; Katie Hydro, Jim Thorpe; and Jodie Spang, Jim Thorpe. Flower girl was Madeline Schirer, daughter of the bride and groom.The bridegroom chose Jared Schirer and Zack Smith, both of Lehighton, as his best men.Groomsmen included P.J. Yurick, Summit Hill; Joseph Kistler, Lehighton; Michael Dubosky, Summit Hill; Michael Engle, Lehighton; Mahlon Christman, Lehighton; Dave Hydro, Jim Thorpe; and Teddy Herr, Kunkletown. Ring bearer was Spencer Schirer, son of the bride and groom.The couple welcomed family and friends to a reception at The Recreation Center located in Summit Hill.Prenuptial parties for the couple included a bridal shower given by mothers of the couple and the bridesmaids at The Recreation Center.The bachelor and bachelorette parties were in Lehighton.The new Mrs. Schirer is a graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she earned a bachelor in elementary education. She is currently employed as a cyber school teacher at eBridge Academy in Lehighton.Mr. Schirer is a graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Trade, where he earned an associate degree in carpentry. He is currently employed at

J.M.S. Construction in Lehighton.The newlyweds reside in Summit Hill, with their two children, Madeline and Spencer.
