Traffic stop leads to drug counts

A traffic stop in Carbon County has led to drug charges against to Lehigh County residents.

State police at Lehighton said the stop was made about 10:40 p.m. in the 200 block of White St., Weissport. As a result of the stop Benjamin Diaz, 25, and Hector Ortiz, 26, both of Allentown, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance-crack cocaine, which was found in the vehicle.

The two were arraigned before duty District Judge Edward M. Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning, after failing to post $40,000 percentage bail each.
