Tamaqua writers group hosts awarded author Autumn Jordon

Award-winning romance author, Autumn Jordon, spoke at the Tamaqua Public Libary on Saturday about today's romance genre in her presentation called "Romance: Not Your Mother's Bodice Rippers Anymore."

Her visit was hosted by the Black Diamond Writers Group. Jordon shared her insights as where to begin and how to structure a romance and what makes it the number one selling genre.Romance books may still include plenty of hot and steamy scenes to get readers' imaginations rolling, but the genre has changed over the years to include plots with depth and realistic characters. During Jordon's visit, members and visitors learned more about expanded sub-genres such as paranormal romance and romantic thrillers.Jordon took the 2010 Gold Leave Award for Best First Book and was a 2009 Romance Writers of America Golden Heart finalist. Her books include In The Presence of Evil, Evil's Witness and Obsessed by Wildfire.Jordon's visit with the group was followed by a brief critique session for those interested in sharing some of their work or a roundtable discussion. The meeting is free and open to the public.
