Schuylkill man jailed for threats

A Schuylkill County man has been jailed on charges of intimidation of a witness and terroristic threats.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said William J. Schilbe, 54, of 2008 Village Rd., Orwigsburg, allegedly attempted to intimidate and threaten a victim/witness in a simple assault and sexual abuse of children case in which he was previously charged. The incidents occurred on the following dates: Nov. 29, 2011, and Feb. 16, troopers said.

A warrant was secured for his arrest on Feb. 16 and he was taken into custody at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $20,000 straight cash bail.
