Schuylkill man facing charges

A Schuylkill County man is facing criminal charges following an incident that occurred about 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said troopers were called to 26 Hickory Court, in West Brunswick Township, by the homeowner. On scene the homeowner, not identified by troopers, said she wanted her son, Brent Evans, 40, removed from the residence because he was causing a disturbance.

During an interview Evans became highly agitated and aggressive. He lunged at trooper and an altercation ensured in an attempt to get control of the suspect, troopers said. After he was handcuffed he continued to be verbally abusive and resist arrest.

Evans was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest or other law enforcement, and harassment.
