Police say Jessica Mendez Behr, 35, of 1 Cherry St., Tamaqua, was charged with careless driving after her 1996 Dodge minivan struck a 1998 Dodge Neon, pushing it into a Ford F150 pick up truck. The accident took place on SR209 in front of the NAPA Auto Parts Store, 1101 E. Broad St.
The pick up truck was operated by Daniel Kabana, while the Neon was operated by Lewis Smith, both of Tamaqua. Both vehicles were stopped as Kabana was waiting to make a left turn into the lot.
Smith was transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, by ambulance and his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
