Named to dean's list at Keystone College
Victoria Wargo Nichols of Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe, has been named to the dean's list of Keystone College, LaPlume, for the 2011 fall semester.
To qualify for the dean's list, students must complete 12 credits and achieve a grade-point average above 3.70.
A sophomore, majoring in early childhood education, Victoria is a member of the Keystone Giants Volleyball team. This 6-foot, 1-inch middle hitter has also achieved recognition as a member of The Colonial States Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the fall 2011 semester. The Fall CSAC All-Academic Team includes 578 student-athletes from the conference's 12 member institutions. The CSAC All-Academic honor rewards varsity student-athletes who attain a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher during their season of competition.
"This recognition is well deserved for each one of these student-athletes," said CSAC Interim Commissioner Jennifer Dubow.
"They have all assumed leadership roles on their campuses by demonstrating that a complete education includes both academics and athletics. Being able to perform at such a high level academically while competing athletically is truly a testament to all of these young men and women."
Victoria is a 2010 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School. She is the daughter of Audrey Wargo of Penn Forest Township, and Martin Nichols, and the granddaughter of Mary P. Wargo of Penn Forest Township.
