A Monroe County man was jailed this week for making threats to his wife.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 3:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, Shaquan Ambrose, of Tobyhanna, came to police headquarters and reported that her husband, Derrel Ambrose, 34, of Long Pond, was threatening her life and sending her pictures of a firearm.

Police went to Ambrose's residence, at 126 Hazelnut Court, and made contact with him.

However, Ambrose refused to come out of the home and barricaded himself inside. The departments swat team was activated and following a three-hour standoff, Ambrose surrendered.

He was placed in the county prison pending arraignment charged with terroristic threats, stalking and resisting arrest.
