Published February 17. 2012 05:01PM

McAdoo police have filed charges against a state constable who allegedly caused damage to a borough employee's vehicle.

James Osborne, 49, of Weissport, stopped at the McAdoo Police Station on Feb. 9, at 8:28 p.m., to ask for directions. When he was leaving, he reversed his 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, striking the parked car owned by the McAdoo Borough secretary. Osborne then left the scene without reporting the incident. When contacted, Osborne denied any involvement.

The incident was witnessed by McAdoo Police Chief Jeff Wainwright.

Damage to the secretary's car was confined to the passenger's side door and was estimated at $1,500.

Chief Wainwright charged Osborne with hit-and-run to unattended property.
