Monroe man facing several charges

A Monroe County man is facing several charges, including burglary, following an incident that occurred on Saturday, Feb. 11, about 4:05 a.m.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported that Stillwater Lakes Security observed footprints in fresh snow and began following them. The footprints led to 403 Hummingbird Drive in the development, which is located in Tobyhanna Township.

At the end of the driveway copper electrical wire was found. Security then called police. An investigation led to a residence where Joshua E. Smith, 33, of Pocono Summit, had been residing. A tool used in a burglary at the Hummingbird Drive residence was found as well as drug paraphernalia.

Smith was taken into custody and charged with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, possessing instruments of crime, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
