Theft incident at school probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating a theft incident reported at the Pleasant Valley Elementary School located off SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said three Nobi netbooks valued at $1,500 were reported taken from the school sometime between Feb. 8 and 10.

Troopers reported on two other incidents.

Jerome Russell, 42, of Marshalls Creek, reported unknown persons fired four shots at his vehicle while along Cherry Road in Polk Township. The incident occurred about 4:55 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12.

Phebe Ann Howard, 41, of 1550 Cane Lane, Effort, reported someone accessed her bank card via the Internet and made two purchases totaling $144.41. The incident occurred during the time span of 5 and 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 5.
