Schuylkill man charged with theft of aircraft parts from his employer
A Schuylkill County man has admitted stealing $420,000 worth of aircraft parts from his employer.
State police at Schuylkill Haven have charged Kevin Hook, 27, of Cressona, with one count each of theft and receiving stolen property, both felonies.
He is accused of taking several aircraft parts from the Hexcel Corporation, located at 172 Industrial Park Road, in East Norwegian Township, during the period of Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. and Jan. 24 at 6 a.m. Hook was an employee at the firm.
Troopers said on Feb. 13, a warrant was issued for Hook's arrest as a result of physical evidence collected that showed his involvement in the theft. Hook was located in front of the Schuylkill Medical Center, Pottsville, and taken into custody Tuesday at 11:20 a.m.
Troopers said Hook confessed to his involvement in the thefts, however, the stolen property could not be found where the suspect said he had placed it.
Hook was arraigned before District Judge David A. Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
