More than 200 people jammed the Nesquehoning Recreation Center to pay tribute to former police chief Harold Billig, who headed the small force of the Nesquehoning Police Department for nearly 21 years before retiring a few months ago. Speakers recognized Billig for his dedication to duty as a small-town police chief. Several proclamations were given to him, among them were from State Senator James Rhoades, Nesquehoning Borough Council, and the Carbon County Commissioners.
