Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary and theft incident that occurred in Schuylkill County.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Michael Putnam, of 8 Fidler Court, Bernville, Pine Grove Township. Removed from the home was a Mosberg 20 gauge rifle and a Hoyt Cybertech compound bow. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 1, 2011, and Jan. 25, troopers said.

Crystal Rausch, of 125 E. Grande Ave. (SR209), in Tower City, reported someone removed an Xbox 360 tower and an Xbox controller, both black in color, from her residence. The incident occurred sometime between 6 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 23.

Troopers also reported they are investigating the theft of a 6-foot by 6-foot pice of galvanized steel grating. The grating was removed from an area off Panther Valley Road to Weiser State Forest in Wayne Township. The grating has rectangular openings of about an inch by three inches, troopers said, and weighs about 500 pounds.

The theft occurred sometime between Monday, Feb. 6, at noon and 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
