Motorists traveling SR443 in West Penn Township Wednesday morning paused to enjoy watching this large flock of turkeys feeding in a corn field at the intersection with Mantzville Road. Many of the fowl were young while several adult males were seen strutting with their tails fanned in a symbolic act of mating. Large flocks of turkeys such as this are becoming more prevalent with the reintroduction of the bird, which in many places was almost extinct.
