Contracts for juvenile and senior services approved

Contracts on behalf of juveniles and seniors were approved by the Schuylkill County commissioners at a brief public meeting held Wednesday at the courthouse in Pottsville.

On behalf of the Children and Youth Services purchase of services were made with The Summit Academy, Pittsburgh, for summit residential at $99.20 per day; sanction and diagnostic unit at $150.85 per day; and sleepy hollow female residential at $190.35 per days.

On behalf of the Office of Senior Services a contract was entered with Wyomissing Behavior Analysts to provide psychological consultations for for the senior services consumers with the contract cap to be increased by $5,000 to $23,000.

A contract was approved with Lori's Angels, of Schuylkill Haven, to increase the contract by 3,000 hours of personal care services at $20 per hour for an increase of $60,000 to raise the contract cap to $280,000.

A contract was entered with Attorney Robert Lipkin, Pottsville, to increase the contract by 80 hours of legal services at $90 per hour to increase the cap to $7,200.

Personnel matters

Action taken on personnel matters were as follows:

Rest Haven Home - Karen Vandak, Coaldale, appoined full time assisant director of nursing at $51,835 per year; Joan Gaumer, Cumbola, was transfered to position as full time licensed practical nurse at $15.99 per hour; and Donna Hahn, Hamburg, part time GNP; Magdalena Risi, New Ringgold, part time nurse's aide; and Eufemia Crishock, Minersville, and Maegan Azbell, Saint Clair, part time nurse's aid trainees were terminated.

Sharon Porcari, Pottsville, resigned as a clerk in the treasurer's office and William Billus, Ashland, as a part time recycling truck driver.
