Woman brings drugs into prison

Kristen Lynn LaSalle, 25, of West Pittston, has been arrested by state police at the Frackville for allegedly bringing prescription drugs into the State Correctional Institute in Mahanoy Township.

Police said the incident happened at 11 a.m. Feb. 4 when LaSalle entered the jail with concealed medication on her person, intending to deliver it to an inmate. Police said she was confronted by prison personnel after she entered the prison and admitted to having the drugs, turning them over to the staff.

She was arraigned before District Judge Cristina Hale, of Frackville, and released on her own recognizance.
