Three area men plead guilty to drug charges, get state prison time
Three area men entered guilty pleas in Schuylkill County court to drug charges and received state prison sentences from President Judge William E. Baldwin.
Ricardo Lloyd Knight, 23, of 203 1/2 Lehigh St., Tamaqua, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance in Tamaqua was sentenced to serve three to six years in a state correctional facility and the sentence is to begin at the expiration of a sentence imposed in New York.
On a charge of criminal use of communication facility (cell phone) he received a concurrent sentence of of six to 23 months. He also must pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund and make restitution of $650 to the state police at the Reading Barracks and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He was cited by the state police drug task force.
Jeremy Allen Snyder, 30, of 62 Heckman St., Quakake, Rush Township, pleaded guilty to three counts of possession chemicals with intent to manufacture illegal drugs and one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal attempt to commit manufacture of a controlled substance.
He was sentenced to serve 14 to 28 months in a state correctional facility, pay $100 to SAE fund and make restitution of $2,745. Snyder was cited by Rush Township Cpl. Duane Frederick, last March 19.
Russell J. Gernert IV, 31, New Ringgold, on two counts of possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture a controlled substance and one count each of criminal conspiracy, criminal attempt to commit manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, was sentenced to serve 22 to 44 months in a state correctional facility, pay $100 to the SAE fund and make restitution jointly or severely with Jeremy Snyder of $2,745.
He received credit for serving 321 days in the county prison. Gernert was cited by Cpl. Frederick.
