Published February 06. 2012 05:03PM

Michael M. Yerger, 27, of Macungie, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 2 on White Street in Bowmanstown, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said he was driving a 1989 Toyota Corolla westbound on White Street at an excessive speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The driver attempted to counter-steer the vehicle, but was unsuccessful, as it continued to slide sideways, traveling across the eastbound lane of travel. It went off the southern edge of the road and impacted several small trees and an embankment, coming to rest in a railroad bed.

Police said Yerger will be cited as a result of the crash.
