Arrest made at Carbon ski resort

State police at Lehighton reported an arrest made at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Jeremy Patrick Richardson, 18, of Tamaqua, was found to have in his possession a snowboard that was reported stolen by Gavin John Schmitt, of Oreland, Montgomery County. The snowboard is valued at $350. The incident occurred about 9 a.m. on Jan. 13.

Richardson was charged with theft.

Troopers are also investigating a vehicle break-in at the resort. Dennis Wayne Bishop, of North Winterhaven, Fla., reported his rental vehicle was broken into. Troopers said the driver's side door locking mechanism was damaged in the incident. Damages were estimated at $200.

Nothing was apparently taken in the incident, which was reported at 2 p.m. on Jan. 25.
