Tamaqua woman wanted for theft

Published February 02. 2012 05:02PM

Tamaqua police have requested a felony arrest warrant for Kelly Gabrielle Bredamus, 43, of 424 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.

Bredamus allegedly committed retail theft at the Rite Aid Drug Store, Center Street, on Jan. 29.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Bredamus entered the store at 2:30 p.m. to pick up a prescription, then became loud and obnoxious, drawing the attention of store personnel. As she walked around the store she kept dropping the bag containing her prescription. As she approached the counter at the store front a tube of KY Jelly was visible to employees

She told employees she had paid for the tube at the pharmacy, a statement that was contradicted by pharmacy staff. Video footage indicated that Bredamus had also removed three other items from the shelves, all without making payment.

The felony charge, filed by Patrolman Karl Harig, was based on eight previous retail theft convictions for Bredamus.
