Fundraiser benefits East Penn Elementary School PTO

East Penn Elementary School recently hosted the annual Santa's Secret Workshop at the school, located on Route 895 in Ashfield. All proceeds from this event benefit East Penn Elementary School PTO.

"Everyone seemed happy with the Workshop," said PTO President Danette Troxell. "The children especially love the idea of shopping without their parents peeking."All items in the children-only gift shop were priced at $6 or less. Gifts purchased by the children were then wrapped and tagged for their loved ones at no additional charge. While the children were busy shopping, parents also had the opportunity to do the same for some last-minute gifts from a variety of vendors - including crafters; Mary Kay; Pampered Chef; Premier Jewelry; Scentsy; Troxell's Produce; and more.Guests enjoyed free cookies and milk. Coffee, cider, and hot chocolate were also available. In addition to the shopping and refreshments, Santa Claus also visited to listen to guests' Christmas wishes - as well as for professional photos. He and Mrs. Claus had a free gift for each child who visited with them."Chairperson Nicole Cotterman and her committee did a great job organizing this annual event," summed up Troxell. "It was a fun time for all."For more information about all that is going on throughout Lehighton Area School District, visit
