Voluntary odd-even parking during snow in Lehighton

Published December 26. 2012 05:02PM

Lehighton borough has no mandatory parking regulations in effect for snow storms.

However, there will be voluntary odd-even parking if four inches or more of snow falls.

Borough Manager Nicole Beckett said on odd numbered days (tomorrow is Dec. 27), parking would be on the side of the street where there are odd numbered houses.

On even numbered days, parking would be on the side of the street where there are even numbered houses.

Chief of Police Neal Ebbert said no tickets will be issued by the police department, stressing that the parking rules are strictly voluntary.

Beckett added that there will be a "rapid response phone call" to residents if the parking rule goes into effect.

If the mayor would call a snow emergency, then parking rules posted on snow emergency routes would be applied.
