One person was hurt in a two-vehicle accident at 3:07 p.m. Dec. 8 at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Mill Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Erika M. Policano, 71, of Macungie, a passenger in one of the vehicles, suffered a moderate injury.

Police said the accident happened when a vehicle operated by Michael J. Policano, 74, of Macungie, which was topped at a red traffic signal in the left lane of Hamilton Boulevard facing south proceeded into the intersection to negotiate a left turn signal when the green traffic arrow activated. Police said a vehicle operated by Kris Wanamaker, 52, of Breinigsville, which was stopped at a red traffic signal in the center lane of Hamilton Boulevard northbound, entered the intersection when the traffic signal displayed a steady res signal, causing the front bumper of Wanamaker's vehicle to strike the passenger's side door of Policano's vehicle.

Police said Wanamaker will be cited for causing the accident.
