Lions donate to Summit Hill groups
KATIE WARGO/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS The Summit Hill Lions Club donated $200 to the Summit Hill Historical Society on Saturday. Several local charities and non-profit organizations were the recipients of $200 donations by the Summit Hill Lions Club on Saturday as Co-President Judy Midas and Treasurer Joe O'Gurek along with Lions Tom Midas and Lou Vermillion were on hand to donate funds to the Diligence Fire Company of Summit Hill, The Summit Hill Historical Society, Summit Hill Recreation Commission, the Shade Tree Commission and the Salvation Army.
All of the organizations were represented for the check presentations and were grateful to the Lions for their donations and indicated they would definitely be put to good use by their organizations. Representing the Summit Hill Recreation Commission were President Monica Marshall, Treasurer Jenny Kosciolek, Secretary Jodi McAndrew and volunteers Maria Szczecina and Jamie Shelton. Accepting on behalf of the Fire company were Trustees Daniel York and Bob O'Gurek, Vice President Ed Nunemacher and Assistant Chief Len Ogozalek. Vermillion, Mary Ann Szczecina and John Kupec accepted a donation for the Shade Tree Commission.
Also, Major Margaret Johnson and Kettle Coordinator Jesse Gindhart-Durning accepted a donation to the Salvation Army. The Historical Society was represented by President Harry Miller, Vermillion and Mary Ann Szczecina.
