Published December 14. 2012 05:04PM

The Lansford Historical Society, the Panther Valley Public Library, and St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church will jointly host a Victorian Christmas in Lansford holiday program and open house this Sunday Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. The Historical Society Museum and the library are at 117 East Bertsch Street, Lansford. St. Johns Byzantine Catholic Church is across the street in the same block.

From 2-3 p.m., the library will present singers and dancers from the Holistic Therapeutic Outreach Services, Lansford, who will perform traditional Victorian Christmas carols and dance. Following a brief intermission, with holiday refreshments and home baked goodies, the Historical Society will present a holiday musical program from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., with guest soloist Leilani Chesonis from Shenandoah.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. Visitors are encouraged to wear Victorian outfits or hats to add to the festive atmosphere.

Following the music and dance programs, there will be an open house and refreshments at the museum upstairs and the library downstairs. Visitors can view the new exhibits and donations to the museum, and find out about all the programs being offered by the library.

There will be a holiday open house from 4 - 5:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, which features spectacular architecture inside and out, beautiful Christmas decorations, and rich traditions and heritage.
