The Panther Valley Middle School is celebrating the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, which will be observed in 2013, through a traveling trunk from the Gettysburg National Military Park.

Teachers, Mr. Bonner, Mr. Wank, and Mr. Evanko, are using the clothing items, personal belongings, pastime activities, photographs, literature, and music provided in the trunk in their classes to help students appreciate the daily life of a Civil War soldier.

The trunk was borrowed through the joint effort of the middle school library and the PTO.
