A verbal domestic argument that happened at 5:25 p.m. Dec. 11 in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, has resulted in a Tobyhanna woman being arrested.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they were summoned to 4185 Little Gap Road after Kirsten Ann McGurk, 27, of Tobyhanna, allegedly struck a 49-year-old Palmerton man in the head with an ashtray.

Police said it is further alleged she grabbed a small steak knife and tried to slash the victim before fleeing the scene as police were arriving at the residence.
